Seeing Red
The problem that redheads have is that they hear so much nonsense from others, and have done for so many years, that they now believe it is impossible for them to look good in anything. This then leads redheaded men into the barren style wasteland that is basic jeans, bad trainers and simple, basic, plain coloured t-shirts that came from the multi-buy display at their local store.
If we are being honest, the lack of notable redheaded celebrities doesn’t really help either, does it? What should redheads be doing to invigorate their style and avoid wearing non-descript, uninteresting styles and colours?
Buying Colour
Neutral and earthy colours are by far the best for your look. It probably sounds like we are having a laugh at your expense, but the fact is that you will look much better in reds, oranges, and browns than in any other colour. And no, we are not trying to dress you up to look like a pantomime vegetable.
Go for distinctive, dark brown chinos, however avoid the commonly worn skinny fits. Go for a carrot fit or something similar so you still look stylish but also stand out among the hordes of men playing safe with denim or wearing any colour of chino as long as it is bright and colourful.
Changing It Up
What earthy colours do give you the opportunity to do is buy one of the signature pieces of many fashion collections for this season: the brown leather jacket. This will be the perfect finish to your outfit and could become the focal point of your look. If you invest in one expensive garment this season, make it a stylish, high quality brown leather jacket.
Quick Style Tips
When you are shopping for basic wardrobe staples it is easy to buy the same old garments time and again. What do you need to do to add a real point of difference to your look?
- If buying shirts for work, avoid plain white colours. Go for creams instead as they will look much softer against your hair colour, as well as increase the style options when it comes to matching up a tie.
- When shopping for your winter coat, if the brown leather jacket was not to your tastes, then look for a mac in a darker beige colour or go for the military jacket. Militaries are huge this season, and a distressed, belted style with detail on button casings and buckles will add a fresh dimension to your look.
